The new facility is located near the Rock Chalk Park sports complex in northwest Lawrence. In this prominent location, visible from K-10 and 1-70, the site location is key to access and visibility.
The services provided include an ambulatory surgery center, orthopedic center of excellence, expanded breast center, therapy and sport rehabilitation services, internal medicine, plastic surgery, office space, retail pharmacy, food court and a rooftop garden accommodating up to 1,000 people.
One unique aspect of the facility is the design for the integral therapy services connecting interior spaces to exterior amenities such as a healing garden, natural amphitheater, water features, and city trail system. This facility is designed with a universal grid structural system that allows for all healthcare modalities to fit into column spaces, also allowing for vertical and horizontal future expansion.
