The new Blue River East Campus addition will be home to four degree programs including lineman technician, certified driver’s license (CDL), forklift and OSHA training. The new facility will include classrooms, vehicle high bay located in a pre-engineered metal building with an adjacent pole field, where students learn how to set up and repair electrical wire communication and power lines. MCC’s Great Plains OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Education Center offers technical courses on hazards, occupational safety and environmental compliance for several industries, including construction, health care, manufacturing and hospitality.
With a strong focus on diverse trade partners, our team took a systematic approach encouraging awareness, education and participation. This proven approach resulted in 115 MBE/WBE bids received and 29% MBE and 19% WBE participation across the three campuses.
