MCC’s engineering technology program got a new home at the Penn Valley Campus in a new $7.3 million addition on the south side of campus. The two-story facility houses classrooms and labs, maker space, an outdoor covered work yard for large projects, a 3d printing lab and an innovation lab. The student’s coursework includes training in engineering graphics, the most popular CADD (computer-aided drafting and design) software packages, and introductory mechanical and architectural design.
With a strong focus on diverse trade partners, our team took a systematic approach encouraging awareness, education and participation. This proven approach resulted in 115 MBE/WBE bids received and 31% MBE and 19% WBE participation across the three projects.
