The project will provide state-of-the-art education for the next generation of healthcare providers, discover new ways to serve patients in need, strengthen partnerships with surrounding neighborhoods, and facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations to fuel innovation and research. By offering increased care services, the project will have a tremendous impact on fostering greater health and equity within the community and will serve as a catalyst for more research and economic development in Kansas City.
UMKC will house key assets in the building for the following programs: UMKC School of Dentistry, UMKC School of Medicine, UMKC Health Equity Institute, UMKC Biomedical Engineering, and Data Science and Analytics Innovation Center. The scope of work also includes the build-out of 70,000 SF of office space atop the two levels of University Health.
