The renovation of the historic Roosevelt Middle School featured extensive upgrades to the building including complete interior demolition, installation of energy efficient MEP systems, facade upgrade, window replacement and new interior build back.
The renovated middle school also included a new elevator tower incorporated into the historic facility, and a renovated gymnasium. With the original structure built in the 1920s, there were multiple unforeseen conditions that arose throughout the demolition process. The team performed estimates on the fly as the project’s scope evolved, giving the school district accurate, real-time pricing.
The team also completed a new addition at the school’s existing high school that added new family and consumer science (FACS) classrooms, art rooms and additional academic classrooms. Safety and logistics were a top priority, as this portion of the project was completed in the active, operating high school.
