Renovations included opening up floors to include common spaces for gathering. The existing entrance/lobby had original terrazzo floors, hidden by dated carpet. The carpet was removed, and the terrazzo was polished to bring back the original look.
In preconstruction, working with the design team and trade partners, we successfully brought the project scope within budget while still providing a quality modern facility.
During construction, a laser focus on scheduling enabled the team to complete work on all three floors concurrently. We achieved completion of all three floors at the same time so furniture could be installed for students to return from summer break.
Work on each floor was staggered, and trade partners followed each other from floor to floor. Proactive communication and a team approach from all parties involved resulted in a successful opening of the newly named Mathes Hall.
