The new construction includes 24 flexible in-patient units, which can serve long-term and short-term stays, while also being an overflow space for the existing emergency department.
The project also includes a new ambulance garage, penthouse expansion for new AHU and expanded parking additions.
For this project to be a success, our team had to relocate nearly every major utility serving the hospital, all with zero disruption to services. The scope includes relocation of water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, primary electrical, live and dark fiber.
The challenge of this project consisted of maintaining hospital operations and access for emergency response vehicles. We coordinated the site phasing plan with ED staff, Fire Department and EMS service to ensure parking and pedestrian traffic is kept safe, emergency department is accessible and EMS vehicles can maintain full operation.
