Efficiency Improvements

The project modernized the facility’s infrastructure and expanded capacity to support future growth while maintaining continuous operations.

The first phase included upgrades to the existing data center, featuring the replacement of 16 CRAC units and the installation of an economizing system that allows the facility to utilize free cooling. The team also added an additional chiller, in-row cooling system, UPS systems and battery monitoring infrastructure to improve efficiency, reliability and redundancy. During construction, temporary cooling measures were implemented to maintain required operating temperatures while critical mechanical upgrades were completed.

Achieving Success

The second phase added a new data center within the existing facility, along with supporting mechanical, electrical and battery monitoring spaces. The expansion included raised access flooring, new cooling and power distribution equipment, cable tray and fiber infrastructure, as well as exterior dry coolers and new switchgear to increase power capacity and support future growth.

All work was completed within an occupied, fully operational facility, requiring extensive coordination to minimize disruption and maintain uninterrupted data center operations. Through careful planning and execution, the project was delivered on time and within budget.
